Taxat provides easy tax filing for Americans living overseas. We bridge the gap between where expats live and where they're from.

Responsible for e-commerce product roadmap from concept to process to execution. Set priorities and goals, measure success, and integrate learnings back into plans. I created and structured the product organization at Tictail; the outcomes included significantly improved execution, focus, delivery, and company performance. I also supervise user research, integrity, and customer support operations, host our bi-weekly international companywide demo, regularly interact with customers, and coach staff across the company.

Created a program at Etsy focused on meeting the shipping and fulfillment related needs of buyers and sellers in a large marketplace context.Accomplishments have included:— Building an effective cross-functional team. Hiring and reporting scope encompassed Product Management, Engineering, Community Management and Program Management personnel.— Developing and executing the seller-side strategy ad roadmap to support Etsy’s overall strategy and support marketplace growth in the US and abroad.— Overseeing and shepherding many product launches across shipping, order management, tracking, status notification, geodata, address quality and related spaces.— Helped turn Etsy into a recognized leader among ecommerce marketplaces in shipping-related products. Maintained triple-digit year-over-year growth over consecutive years, along with significant impact to revenue and to metrics measuring buyer and seller satisfaction.— Engaged, signed, and managed multiple US and international partnerships, with contract values extending into the 9-digit range on a yearly basis.— Developed a set of product management principles and processes to maximize team impact, effectiveness, and cohesion. — Trained and mentored new Product Managers. Also mentored staff members across all disciplines.— Represented Etsy in policy and business discussions with governmental agencies and policymakers. Met with the US Trade Representative on the subject of cross-border commerce, and was a featured speaker at the United Nations’ UPU eCommerce Summit in Switzerland.While focusing largely on the Shipping program, I also supervised Product and Engineering operations for Etsy’s Seller Tools and Internal Tools units, with total organization size around 50. For all of these units my aim was to advance Etsy’s goals by developing and supporting highly productive data-driven teams that focus on customer needs, while helping to make Etsy a great place to work.

Founding member of team devoted to building Etsy's shop management tools. Grew staff from 2 to approximately 25, while improving and expanding core seller tools to support and drive a period of rapid marketplace growth.Initiated and/or led numerous new product programs including Etsy's seller analytics application (Shop Stats) and Internationalization tools. Led sensitive programs driving major changes to Etsy's fee structures and collection and display of user identity data. Also drove and executed a complete rewrite of cart and checkout facilities, as well many more incremental updates of important tools and subsystems.

Wrote and contributed to key components of Etsy's technical infrastructure, including core architectural services, ad systems, and listing and shop management tools. Helped transition Etsy onto a scalable, stable, continuously deployed technical architecture.

Led mobile application development efforts across 5 locations. Primarily responsible for development of a complete mobile OS and basic app stack on behalf of a major US telecommunications company.

Assembled and led the engineering team for Yahoo's new-product incubator program. Planned, architected, and executed several products, including Yahoo Live!, a multiuser video and text chat web app. Also led product management efforts for Yahoo Live! subsequent to team reorganization.

Author of the Yahoo Video Player. As a member of the Advanced Products Group, also contributed to Yahoo Podcasts and a group text messaging app, in collaboration with a Bangalore-based engineering team.

Focus on search and document syndication, in conjunction with a collection of online resources in the STEM field. Contributor to open source tools, including Lucene and Velocity.

Development for startup focused on social commerce. Platform featured an AJAX-like architecture driving real-time immersive graphics and live chat.

Back-end software and feed aggregation and delivery for a calendaring application aimed at the financial industry.

Developed working prototypes for networked consumer products in the music and educational domains, and an interactive compositional exhibit for the Experience Music Project in Seattle.

Web and hardware projects for a variety of business, museum, and governmental entities. Clients included the US Department of Defense (Content Management System for the Pentagon), Cleveland Children's Museum and NY Hall of Science (Interactive Exhibits), Levis (Web), DXM (Web), Fremont Bank (Financial Calculation Tools for Web) and others.

Interface and interaction design for a Japanese interactive TV pilot developed by SGI in conjunction with NTT. Led user research session in Tokyo.
