Eric is a psychologist, author, performance coach, facilitator and keynote speaker. For over 20 years, he has been helping CEOs, Founders and Leaders merge and integrate businesses, teams and cultures. He has, at different times, supported acquisitions, integrations, mergers, turn-arounds and restructures. Eric’s client base spans 4 continents and multiple business sectors including media, technology, transport, manufacturing, music, finance, publishing, health, government, sports and entertainment.Eric works with leaders and their teams to help them integrate and align, often after a restructure, a merger or an acquisition has “gone wrong”, negatively impacting productively and effectiveness. Alternatively, leaders who’ve experienced the negative impact of dysfunctional mergers, engage Eric early, before the change occurs, to avoid things "going wrong" in the first place. In addition to his work with leaders and their leadership teams, Eric has deep experience in the design and implementation of the broader cultural change and employee engagement programs that are often required to deliver and embed real change. Eric specialises in improving employee engagement and buy-in, resulting in less resistance and faster, better, implementation. This includes supporting a business wide merger or restructure or even the implementation of a new work process or IT platform: anything that requires employee buy-in and behaviour change for success. He has frequently worked with front-line, blue-collar teams to measurably improve engagement and productivity, often in difficult, low trust, industrial environments. Erics approach is to apply the practical lessons from performance psychology to workplaces and his keynotes and workshops on "Managing and Coping with Change", "Improving Personal and Team Performance" and "Well Being and Resilience" are insightful, practical and compelling. He is the author of “Don’t think about Purple Elephants” a guide to positive communication. And over the years he has contributed to numerous magazines and publications.
