CurrentProviding In-Service Engineering and Fleet Technical Support for the following submarine systems:- Hydraulics- Ship Control / Fly-By-Wire- Steering and DivingResponds to time-sensitive Naval messages requesting underway troubleshooting of malfunctioning components.Manages a library of operator-performed maintenance cards to monitor system and component health (oil sample analysis, lubrication, testing). Provides recommendations when measured values are out of specification.Performs risk assessments on equipment that is found not to be in compliance with drawing or design requirements. Determines appropriate timeframe for acceptance of the condition, and when repairs must be accomplished.Works to provide solutions to complex maintenance issues that arise on the waterfront and shore-based repair facilities.Relays lessons learned back to Design Engineers to improve the reliability of follow-on submarine Classes, including Columbia and SSN(X) future attack submarine.Experience working within the bounds of special emphasis programs such as Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE), Unrestricted Operations (URO), Material Control (MIC), Fly-By-Wire (FBW/SFCC), and others.Multi-disciplinary role requiring knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, corrosion science, protective coatings, non-destructive testing, and repair techniques such as welding, electroplating, cold spray, thermal spray and epoxy.Portsmouth Naval Shipyard On-site Representative.
