Develop and present skill-building seminars to beginners and intermediate-level woodworkers

Performed detailed design of a low-cost Universal Testing Machine to be used by 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students at the University of Saskatchewan. Sourced all significant components of the system for ~$2500/device.Overhauled a large-scale pneumatic conveying testing apparatus. I increased horizontal testing lines from 1 to 2 and added a 6m vertical riser to evaluate transient and steady state effects of downstream pressure variation.Assisted with instrumentation payloads and the robotic imaging platform (PAMM) used for plant phenotyping research.

SaskInvent is the U of S student group that develops medical devices. Under my leadership the group has grown significantly in membership, generated sponsorship funding, project development, and has implemented formal procedures and executive roles.I was project leader for an assistive device to help those with upper body disabilities read books, a hand rehabilitation device, and I am currently the project leader for a low-cost IV infusion pump meant for low-income countries.The hand rehabilitation device manipulates joints with novel pneumatic actuators. The actuators are based on the emerging field of soft robotics which deliver improved patient safety and comfort over traditional rigid devices. Many iterations were made to optimize force delivery and increase manufacturability. It is supported by a robust pneumatic power system and was made portable for patient use.The IV pump is a continuation of my final year Mechanical Engineering Capstone project. Our prototype won Best Product Design and Best Social Impact Design at the College of Engineering's Undergraduate Design Showcase.

Generated market research reports, reviewed intellectual property, and recommended commercialization paths for emerging technology developed at the University of Saskatchewan.

Helped set up an asset management system for the University of Saskatchewan’s Facilities Management Department. Created hierarchies of equipment that enabled tradespeople, supervisors and management to more efficiently run their operations.Became proficient with manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data in Microsoft Excel. Gained familiarity with preventative maintenance plans.
