I have 30 years of experience in the cultural resources management field as a professional archaeologist. I have worked archaeological projects in many parts of the southeastern and Midwestern United States. I have served as Principal Investigator (PI) on all phases of archaeological research, including survey, National Register of Historic Places eligibility testing, and data recovery. I have been involved in a supervisory role on excavations at site types ranging from Depression era farmsteads to large, multiple mound Mississippian villages. I have experience in working with descendant communities and with assisting federal agencies in conducting Native American consultation. I have worked closely with several Native American Tribes and Nations, and have formed good working relationships with several of them over the course of my career.My specialties include the prehistory of the Midwestern and southeastern United States, Section 106 review, the history of archaeology, archaeological method and theory, historic preservation, and cultural resources management.At the current time, I am not interested in any positions as a contractor or consultant. The only cultural resource related position I will consider is one with a state or perhaps federal agency, primarily TXDOT or THC, and since I don't live in the capital that is a problem.I am currently happily employed part time as a package handler for UPS in the DFW area.over
