I deliver English language instruction and job/career counselling to English language students. I have worked throughout southern China across essentially all age levels and backgrounds. I have been greatly able to answer most all questions related to English Grammar, word meaning and usage and have been able to explain American and Occidental culture in general. I have often interested and informed students in world history and geography in a way that is very understandable and, by nature of the subject, entertaining.I effectively, maybe most importantly of all, am able to have a positive influence on the lives of students, affecting their sense of self-esteem and ability to work in cross-cultural situations. As well as being able to provide engaging instruction to students, I have helped to train and influence colleagues and work with non-academic departments to improve their integrity, communicative abilities and success. At the University level I have taught academic and Freshman writing to large classes, introducing techniques in writing effective argumentative papers and introducing Western ideas of thought--both in writing and in speaking classes. Knowing that students are learning, changing and growing is the most rewarding part of my job.
