Chief Operating Officer (Coo)Uniqure Apr 2014 - Feb 2017Amsterdam, 1105Bp, NluniQure (NASDAQ 2014), the first (biotechnology) company that got a gene therapy product (Glybera®) commercially approved. The portfolio consisted of own pipeline developments as well as partnered developments in different stages of development.As COO, I supervised CMC Development, Technology Transfer and Commercial Operations in Amsterdam (NL) and in Lexington (US). I set up the (global) project and program management function. During my tenure at uniQure I also supervised the construction, qualification and validation of 2 GMP facilities (US, NL) and led the ERP selection process. I was involved in the strategic reorientation of the company that resulted in moving a major part of the NL Operations to the US in 2017.I was representing the company also externally, e.g. supervisory board, investors & analysts, partners (i.e. BMS, Chiesi, Treeway), regulatory (GxP) authorities, suppliers. From an organizational development perspective, the company more than doubled in size during my tenure to 250 people. -

Site closure of Roosendaal was initiated in 2013 to consolidate activities.Accountable for the Alken site, which was ISO 15378 (cGMP), ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified. In this role, I managed to double EBIT during my tenure and implemented a continuous improvement process (Process Excellence, WCM based). Furthermore, I represented the company internally (e.g. negotiations with unions) and externally (e.g. customers, suppliers). -

The program was metric driven and covered lowering working capital, fixed and variable costs to ensure the midterm targeted operating income.As Manager General Affairs (2009 – 2010) accountable for HR, Purchasing, EHS and Quality (ISO 14001, ISO9001 and ISO/TS 16949), Communication and Legal. I aligned the company by making the organisation more involved, effective and efficient by redesigning the roles & responsibilities and the introduction of continuous improvement by 5S and KAIZEN.As MT member I represented the company both internally and externally. -
