You can't walk up to a stranger and ask them to marry you. Chances that you're going to get a no are extremely high. To raise the probability of getting a yes, you have to introduce yourself, get to know the person on a deeper level, spend time together and provide some sort of value. The same goes for marketing. You can't ask people that never heard of your brand to purchase your products/services on a first interaction. You have to build brand awareness, educate and provide value first. If that's the foundation of your marketing strategy, you have a great chance of success.
