I work directly with our Executive Team and Board of Directors on a wide range of organizational projects and local issues. I lead all the activities of the Government and Public Affairs Division, including public information, community relations, governmental affairs, legislative and regulatory affairs, water-use efficiency, and education programs. In my role, I also serve as one of the District's PIO's. One of the things I like about my role is that I am able to advocate on behalf of the District with other agencies to identify & communicate key issues and positions. I have in-depth experience working with key stakeholders, elected officials and their staff building mutually beneficial relationships. In addition to my primary functions I also assist our Finance Department with a couple of key financial items and our Engineering and Operations Departments on water resource and planning activities. I also have a deep understanding of water rights, water supply, Chino & Cucamonga groundwater basins, capital projects and the political realities surrounding them. I am also responsible for managing the budget of a non-profit owned and operated by CVWD along with our departmental budget. In addition, I am responsible for developing and managing real estate contracts and tenants leasing space from CVWD.Through my years of experience and different responsibilities I have gained a uniquely comprehensive understanding of how to help manage & lead CVWD to achieve positive results on a wide range of issues.

Worked directly with the Board of Directors and Executive Management on a broad range of issues, including: collaborating with local, state, federal and non-profit agencies on critical projects. Created new organizational policies, spearheaded local canyon and watershed improvement projects, researched water rights, conducted water and sewer rate studies, provided public outreach, managed the District's Legislative and Government Affairs Department. Served as the project manager for the District's website update, Managed building and site sustainability improvements, conducted water supply planning, served as the administrator for several financial items for the District, managed different aspects of real estate, authored and managed grants, provided project management, contract/RFP preparation and negotiation while working with people at all levels to provide the best service possible. I also worked on a number of initiative's and became familiar with the Chino & Cucamonga Groundwater Basins and the Chino Basin Watermaster process.

Assisted in the development of the District's recycled water program, provided support for the engineering and capital projects programs, I worked on entry-level engineering, hydrological, and groundwater projects. Learned about the different types of water rights, water supply, and projects to improve District operations.

Provided high-level customer service, conducted water & sewer rate analysis, lead a customer bill update project, and other procedural changes surrounding billing issues. Worked closely with the Field Service Representative Team to gain an understanding of meters, customer concerns. water pressure concerns, and water audits. I also learned about financial impacts related to the billing process and about other financial decisions that the District makes.
