Responsible for the monitoring and oversight of a Periphonics Voice Response Unit (VRU) network. This network included both analog and digital VRU systems and was spread across multiple locations within the state of Texas. This system was designed to take automated unemployment claim information from claimants and feed it into our Unemployment Insurance system. Monitoring duties included reporting any local outages or problems immediately, routing calls to the main hub and requesting repair as needed. Other duties involved twice daily system checks to verify that all aspects of the claims process was operating normally.Repair requests were coordinated with our in-house LAN/WAN division, Periphonics maintenance section, and/or AT&T (formerly Southwestern Bell Telephone).
