WorkVis (www.workvis.io) is transforming workplace safety through video analytics & AI. The company’s HazardWatch is an AI-powered solution that works with existing or new worksite surveillance camera feeds to spot potential hazards and alert workers and safety managers in real-time, increasing workplace safety and productivity while reducing monitoring cost, time and effort.

I have now left my full-time employment at ChronHego / Tracab, but as Senior Advisor I still assist the company with their sports tracking technology.

The main focus of my work at ChyronHego / Tracab was the development of the real-time Tracab optical sports tracking system (for tracking soccer players and the ball) as used in the German Bundesleague, Spanish La Liga, and major FIFA and UEFA tournaments. For most of my time at the company (known at various times as Tracab, Hego or ChyronHego) I was head of the computer vision team. I then relinquished the role of team leader, but continued to take a lead in large technical projects such as Tracab Gen5, the most accurate tracking system on the market.Together with collaborators MLBAM and Trackman, our tracking and visualisation system "Statcast" for Major League Baseball was recognised with an Emmy Award in 2017 (I was one of five recognised key individual innovators from ChyronHego). In addition to Tracab, Statcast involved a real-time augmented reality system for sports broadcasts: I was the technical lead of the camera tracking module, which was based on image recognition techniques.I also continued the development of the CogEye panoramic stitch engine (see below).

Together with colleagues at KTH, I founded a small company developing systems for panoramic videos for sports applications. CogEye started a collaboration with Hego (now ChyronHego) in 2007, and was formally acquired by them in 2013.Although CogEye as a company is dormant, the panoramic stitch video engine continues to see extensive use within ChyronHego products. It provides video outputs for customers of ChyronHego's Tracab sports tracking system, has been used as a studio backdrop by e.g. Sky Sports (UK) and TV4 (Sweden), and is also the underlying technology in the replay system "AllCam" as used by ESPN in college American Football games.

While at the Computational Vision and Active Perception Laboratory, I worked on a range of projects involving recognition, object tracking, segmentation in videos, texture analysis, and machine learning. My research was initially funded by an EU Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, and subsequently by larger EU and Swedish projects.
