    I serve as the Associate Vice President for the University of Chicago's Department of Safety and Security which encompasses numerous operational units that provide public safety services to the University of Chicago, the University of Chicago Medicine, the University's elementary and secondary educational institutions, its global campuses and to the extended communities surrounding the University of Chicago in the south side of the city. In this capacity, I lead several operational units that include a full-service CALEA and IACLEA accredited law enforcement agency with responsibilities for an extended patrol jurisdiction, a physical security division that manages physical security technology and a robust physical security program including K-12 security teams, an emergency management and business continuity division, an environmental health & safety division, and transportation and parking unit. In this role, I manage and oversee 400+ full-time, part-time, and contracted employees with a multi-million dollar annual budget. As the Associate Vice President, I serve as the institution's Chief Law Enforcement and Security Officer and manage the institution's emergency response protocols.

Operating with a $7.5 million-dollar budget, the GMU Department of Police and Public Safety provided professional and dedicated law enforcement and security services to the largest public institution of higher education in Virginia which included several campuses in surrounding counties, and the Patriot Center (10,000 seat arena) which hosted Division I athletic events as well as high-profile entertainment and political events. In this capacity, I served as the institution's Chief law enforcement and security officer and co-chaired the institution's Behavioral Threat Assessment Team.
