BRAUN INTERTEC is an employee-owned geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and testing firm which has grown to over 1,000 employee-owners. In my role as a Staff Consultant, I was a member of the Building and Structural Sciences Division providing Building Enclosure Commissioning Services (BECx) and Peer Review Consulting Services to architects, contractors, and building owners.TECHNICAL EXPERT: Reviewed third-party contract documents to ensure the design team was incorporating the necessary building enclosure design elements to properly waterproof, flash, and roof the designed structure. Marked up contract documents for comment, further information, and or revision. Met with design team to discuss any potential issues and provided design team with solutions to address potential problems. OBSERVATION: Maintained surveillance of real property facilities during construction to ensure construction contractors were following contracted drawings, specifications, etc. Provided timely reports of observation findings to the design team and owner. Maintained a log of found discrepancies throughout the project tracking when items were addressed by the construction contractor or accepted by the design team and or owner. FIELD TESTING: Utilized various testing techniques to verify that the building enclosure elements of the real property facility were properly installed and operating as intended. Tests included, but were not limited to, adhesion testing of below grade waterproofing, adhesion testing of air/vapor barriers, water spray and chamber testing of curtainwall, storefront, and flanged window systems, and electronic leak detection of roofing and plaza deck systems. CLIENT SERVICE: Principal point of contact for clients regarding proposals, contract negotiation, project correspondence, project deliverables, billings, and project closeout. Developed scope of work and budgets with clients.

PBK SPORTS is a multi-discipline group of architects and engineers that specialize in providing expert programming, design and construction administration services specifically for sports facilities. In my role as an Architectural Designer, I prepared contract documents and developed specialized detailing for numerous sports facilities as well as provided construction administration services for each project.PERFORM: Created spatial layouts for new facilities in AutoCAD and Revit utilizing the schematic design criteria provided. Developed the design intent by laying out plans, elevations, sections, and details. Prepared the set of contract documents utilizing a professional knowledge of architecture to ensure all aspects of the design intent were covered and addressed with an appropriate drawing, detail, or specification. COLABORATE: Coordinated, integrated, and reviewed projects including architectural, civil, landscape, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology components. Acted as the principal contact for each member of the design team and collaborated with each to develop and maintain the project schedule.COMPLY: Complied with health, safety, and welfare rules and procedures and performed work in a manner that enhanced the safety of the built environment. Collaborated with local registered accessibility consultant(s) to ensure designs addressed the necessary concerns and avoided potential costly repairs during or after construction. MAINTAIN: Setup and maintained project drawing files. Provided consultants with the necessary background files for their work and periodically kept them up to date. Maintained drawing sets for review and updated them throughout the project. Provided the necessary files to construction contractors upon request and receipt of the appropriate drawing release agreement.

In my role as a Architectural Drafter, I participated as part of a team developing drawing sets for a district high school and a university athletic facility.

HERMES ARCHITECTS was a leading retail design firm in the Houston area for several decades. In my role as an Architectural Intern, I developed building site and parking plans for a variety of shopping centers around the Houston area. Prepared drawing sets for several shopping centers, a church, and an elementary school.

BLIMPIE SUBS AND SALADS is a quick service restaurant (QSR) franchise. In my role as a Design Coordinator, I prepared criteria drawings for new restaurant locations throughout the United States, Europe, and Latin America. Coordinated with architects, contractors, developers, and franchisees to design efficient locations and maintain brand identity. Designed the brand identity and interior design concept for Smoothie Island Juice Bar. Three locations were constructed in the Houston area. Received a company award nomination for the development of the “Next Great Step” store retrofit design. Promoted to Vice President of Design responsible for hiring and training design coordinators, creating and maintaining drawing assets, and developing prototypes and specifications.
