I provide day-to-day counsel, solutions and strategic thought leadership to Nationwide's investment professionals in support of fixed-income, liquid markets, swaps and derivatives trading desks, investment risk management, asset management, client services, collateral management, and back office operations.

Through ever-increasing experience and responsibilities, I developed my practice to advise and counsel Nationwide's in-house investment department and business lines on permissible investments and derivatives use under state insurance and federal securities and derivatives laws and regulations. Over the the years I advised, and continue to advise, Nationwide's investment, finance, and risk management professionals on a variety of transactions, including commercial real estate lending, syndicated bank lending, private equity, private placement, structured products, corporate financing, and swaps and derivatives.

There is nothing to compare with the camaraderie of kitchen work where life-long friendships and work ethics are forged and tested. In a successful kitchen creativity and flawless execution are table stakes. In the fires of Saturday nights for nearly twenty years, I learned how to be a team player, operate efficiently and accurately under pressure, and serve my customer. These skills from the heart of the house have carried over into my professional life as an attorney and my personal life as a husband and father. I count my years in the restaurant business as the greatest foundational learning experiences I could have had.
