I worked with Dr. Ning Lu and Dr. Alexandra Wayllace in association with USGS and Colorado DOT on a landslide research project while earning my MS in Geotechnical Engineering.

Infrasense is a consulting firm specializing in NDE (non-destructive evaluation) of concrete and asphalt structures, including bridges, roads, parking garages, and airfields. I perform analysis of GPR (ground penetrating radar) and infrared scans, review other employee's work, improve process efficiency, assemble client reports, assist in data collection and field verification, and coordinate with state agencies and other clients.

I worked on a variety of residential construction projects, from complete gut and structural rehab to new construction to interior remodeling. Columbia has been operating for over 20 years in the Boston area and specializes in high-end, custom-design construction. As an employee of a general contractor, I gained experience in every aspect of residential construction, including demolition, masonry, wood and steel structural framing, roofing, siding, insulation/weatherization, fine finish work, reading plans, code compliance, and coordinating with subcontractors, architects, and engineers.

City Year is a non-profit community service organization; it was the inspiration and model for the Americorps program. I worked in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood, mainly in an 8th grade Civics class as a teacher's aid, with 4th graders at an afterschool program, and on various physical service projects like painting schools, cleaning up parks, and building benches and planters for community spaces. I had many team leadership experiences, whether leading students in group discussions and projects or fellow Corps members and corporate partners in service projects.
