Inspect and observe construction materials and procedures for compliance with design plans on private and civil projects.

I have been involved with engineering and environmental projects throughout the Western United States performing construction materials inspection on airfield improvements at KCI taxiways, Missoula Airport De-icing project, Geurnsey Army Airfield runway extension, wind energy system installation at Medicine Bow, WY and roadways and bridge construction. As an environmental technician I have been involved in remediation oversight on Idaho Snake River project, the Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho, geotechnical driller's assistant on geological reconnaissance in Rock Springs, Wy, landfill construction, phase 1 investigations, and USACE levee rehabilitation. I hold certifications as a Soils Special Inspector, American Concrete Institute inspector, HAZWHOPER- Hazardous Materials Handling, Missouri and Kansas licensed asbestos abatement inspector, NIOSH 582 (sampling & evaluating airborne asbestos) and Air Sampling Professional. My experience has been utililized as a professional witness in litigation.

As a certified public safety diver, haz-mat, ice diving operations, confined space rescue, auto extrication and swift water rescue specialist I participated in underwater recovery of victims of drowning, recovered police evidence and preformed flood evacuations. Other duties included team management and public information and water safety education. As a team member I became a founding member of the Central States Drag Boat Racing Association rescue team and toured with the CSDBRA for several seasons in the 1980s and 90s. I am co-author of the book "DownTime: An Oral History of the Lee's Summit Underwater Rescue & Recovery Team" published in 2002 and 2014 by Bookstand publishing.

Assigned to B Company, 1st Bn, 1st Marines small boat raid company as a 60mm mortarman, company Communications Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), Nuclear Biological Chemical training NCO and Training NCO. In 1994 I was promoted to sergeant and assigned to Regimental Enhansed Training Section as a Raid Course Instructor.

Served on active duty with 2nd Bn, 321st Field Artillery, 82nd Airborne Division and Army Reserves with Airborne HQ unit at Richards-Gebaur AFB and 5039th Schools Unit as a Military Occupational Skills Instructor/ Primary Leadership Development Course Instructor with rank of staff sergeant.
