Hello, my name is Eric Hubel and I’m a senior at Ferris State University, pursuing a bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. Through taking classes such as Java programming, database analysis, and web development where I completed both small and large programming assignments, I’ve become confident in my skill as a programmer. This includes multiple programming languages such as Java, PHP, SQL, and JavaScript. Because of my knowledge of various languages, I am able to adapt to whatever language an company may be using. Also, I have grown as a problem solver due to the challenges I faced in completing assignments. An example of an assignment I was given a problem faced by a business and had to come up with a technology based solution. My skills as a team leader and member has also grown by filling the role of team leader on various group projects, by managing the direction the group is going, working with the team to schedule meeting times, and helping to solve group problems. I also stay up to date and connected with what is happening in the technology field by being an active member of the Ferris State student chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. My previous job of working for a small lawn care business has taught me about working hard, staying focus on the job at hand, doing a good job, and taking pride in my work. My short-term goal is to obtain a summer internship in a IT department doing database management and programming. After graduation, my goal is to work towards becoming a project leader on software development projects.
