In 2011, I decided to attend Redstone College In Broomfield Colorado. I graduated with honors and an associates degree as well as a ton of experience. I was hired as a greenhorn wind turbine technician for Mitsubishi and I was immediately told to forget everything my school had taught me! I have so many great memories of that company and had the pleasure of working with some truly memorable friends and colleagues. I had learned SO much, but after three years of very little promotional growth it was time for me to move on to what I viewed to be a necessary career opportunity. I began working for Iberdrola Renewables and it is what I believe to be one of the best companies in the world. It was one of the best work experiences I have had the pleasure to be a part of. I absorbed as much knowledge as I could and before I knew it I was a crew lead in charge of our sites Gamesa wind turbines. I immersed myself in programming and troubleshooting out of necessity and I became very good at it. I developed the mindset that if I don't do it who will? We weren't in the business of putting on temporary band-aids or running multiple tower resets until the tower relented and was essentially force started. We absolutely tried our best and put in a lot of overtime to get the tower fixed...properly. I was eventually presented with an opportunity to move back to Coeur d' Alene and take on a management roll in a different field of work. I now work for Custom Insulation focusing primarily on assuring quality control of our installed product, scheduling warranty work and taking on new jobs as well as operating as safety coordinator to over 40 employees and performing bi-weekly safety meetings.
