Developed the critical thinking, complex problem solving, conceptual and operational planning, and leadership graduate level skills for over 70 U.S. and international military officers and government professionals. Specialized in leader development, self-awareness, critical assessment, planning, and operational leadership. Prepared professional students for leading in highly challenging, dynamic, uncertain, multinational, and multicultural environments.

Developed, maintained and facilitated curriculum to over 2000 Navy Executive Leaders. Coached hundreds of senior executives in their self-awareness development, leadership strategy and personal resiliency. Completed a training needs analysis and redesign of the Navy’s executive leadership curriculum to include character attributes, behaviors, and skills resulting in more relevant, engaging and effective curriculum.

Curriculum Director and senior facilitator for all submarine operational and decision making training. Developed and mentored a team of 100 highly capable instructors who led the development of over 600 submarine leaders and trained 18 submarine crews for challenging operations throughout the world using the most advanced technology. Responsible for the review of all submarine officer career training and experience development which achieved greater training effectiveness at significantly reduced personnel costs.

A successful fast attack submarine career culminating as Commanding Officer, USS SALT LAKE CITY with shore tours at the Naval Inspector General, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Operations Directorate on the Joint Chiefs, Submarine Development Squadron Twelve (deputy). Led, trained and developed hundreds of Navy and civilian personnel in the complex operations and maintenance of nuclear powered propulsion plants and operational employment of submarines. Project leader for 15 integrated complex maintenance periods and two submarine inactivation nuclear fuel removal shipyard periods. Mentored and trained six submarines and partnered with maintenance and certification activities to support global deployment and safe operations of six submarines. Coordinated with multiple diverse stakeholders to achieve the highest state of operational readiness. Demonstrated extremely high mastery level in coordinating complex projects, team building, operational decision making and human resource management. Completed four submarine deployments that included numerous missions vital to national security.
