Project management and estimating for heavy civil construction projects including water treatment plant (WTP) and wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) projects in Pennsylvania. Experience: Materials evaluation, research & investigation; finding cost saving materials, installation methods, and improved safety measures for Georgia (GA) highways. Participated in a 2-year training program and spent time in various departments such as Urban Design, Bridge Design, Traffic & Safety, and Office of Materials & Research. During the training program, spent 6 months in the field on the I-20, I-75/I-85 (connector) road and bridge construction project in downtown Atlanta (1986). Other projects of importance: designing a bridge widening (SR 11 over Allen Creek in Jackson County, GA); designing a new method for sampling asphalt at DOT approved plants for quality control purposes; and analyzed the feasibility of highway indentation rumble strips. Post 2-year training program: permanently assigned to the Office of Materials & Research managing federal and state funded projects involving researching materials and systems for use on GA interstate, state, and federal highways.
