Proficient adjunct professor for multiple campus locations teaching courses in traditional in-person, online, and hybrid formats for NVCC, the largest community college in Virginia and second in the United States (by enrollment numbers). Teach 1-4 classes per semester of approximately 35 students per class and facilitate learning through the Learning Management System.

Veteran teacher accountable for instruction of approximately 30 students per class with 5-6 classes per semester in coursework for U.S. History, U.S. Government, and Dual Enrollment U.S. History in a variety of formats including, in-person, virtual and hybrid learning models, while continuing to maintain an active presence in the Learning Management System (LMS). Coordinate field trips to off-site locations and organize with presenters for virtual presentations into the classroom that supplement the curriculum of the cohort team. Active participant in developing and updating the curriculum as adopted by the cohort team. Serve as Senior Class Sponsor accountable for approximately 400 Seniors and advising 4-5 Senior Class officers while organizing, planning, and executing Senior Year Activities and Graduation Ceremonies and oversaw the distribution of information about graduation to parents, administrators, staff, students, and the school community. Other responsibilities as Senior Sponsor include scheduling transportation needs, chaperoning Senior Trip, management of class budget, and collecting funds per school policies, collaborating with vendors for services, and management of payments within school policies and guidelines.

Repeat Seasonal hire supporting major Park Special Events such as the National Cherry Blossom Festival, The National Memorial Day Celebrations, and The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Concert Series on the grounds of the U.S. Capital Building (20,000-person attendance on average) and other nonrecurring events (averaging 6,000 people). Certified Incident Command System (ICS) Taskbook as a Base Camp Manager (BCMG) and serve as Branch Manager in the Operation Section. Participated in Command and General Staff, Tactics, and Planning meetings for different incidents. Trained and supervised Rangers and Volunteers (15-20 on average) following NPS regulations and representing the NPS as liaison to the U.S. Capitol Police, The Architect of the Capital, and partners like Capital Concerts Inc. and the NSO. Educated in ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 coursework and COR 3 Training. Supervise incident contractors and successfully monitor contracting agreements.

Seasonal Hire for Fort Washington Park, a locally used recreational park south of Washington, DC with approximately 500,000 visitors annually; trained at other locations including Oxon Hill Farm and Oxon Cove Parks. Presented educational programs, conducted walks, demonstrations, and off-site programs for visitors. Executed Visitor Service operations, including a cash register and keeping records of the bookstore per NPS and Partner policies. Supplied interpretation through 19th Century black powder artillery living history programs.

Repeat Seasonal Hire for The National Mall and Memorial Parks, a high visitation, high complexity, urban park situated in the heart of the Nation’s Capital with an estimated visitation of 30 million visitors per year. Required to learn and presented programming on the historical, architectural, and cultural interpretation of all the monuments and memorials on the National Mall including but not limited to the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Washington Monument, the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument, the Old Post Office Tower, the several War Memorials and other smaller memorials and parks. Conducted formal and informal interpretation for large and small audiences and supplied visitor contact information and orientation. Received accolades from visitors and supervisors on depth of knowledge of the park’s resources. Aided with the development of walking tours of the Burning of Washington and the Tidal Basin Memorials and presented these programs to the public.

Delivered coursework instruction in World History, AP Government, U.S. Government, and Economics and Personal Finance to approximately 30 student per class with 5-6 classes per semester that focused on student-centered learning. Selected as a Standard of Learning (SOL) remediation and Summer School Teacher supporting student success and graduation rates consistently over 90%. Additionally appointed as the Student Government Co-Sponsor for two years and coordinated event management of Homecoming and Prom for upper-class students, including collection and management of financials and management of vendor contracts per school policies.

Seasonal Hire stationed at Great Falls Park, a 700-acre wooded park in Northern Virginia with numerous potential safety hazards, situated next to the Potomac River with an annual visitation of approximately 650,000. Supported NPS program at other sites on the George Washington Memorial Parkway as needed. Supplied front line Visitor Services and supported bookstore operations at the park visitor center. Worked in partnership with NPS Museum and Park Staff to develop new interpretative materials and waysides for the park. Developed Closing Procedure for Emergency Park Shutdowns that was adopted by Management. Represented the Park Service on two State Department visits for foreign dignitaries and aided with recording and preparing Volunteer Training and service hours for the end of year report.

Provided evening tutoring serves for all aged students from Pre-K to High School in one on one instruction sessions.

Qualified classroom teacher with the responsibility of instructing approximately 30 students per class with 4 classes per semester in World Geography, World History I, World History II, U.S. Government, U.S. History, Freshman Social Studies, and Introduction to Sociology. Successfully developed the curriculum for the Sociology course that was adopted by the school administration. Recognized for consistent Standard of Learning (SOL) Passing Rates over 80% and supported student engagement in the school community as an SAT and ACT test proctor and as the football announcer. Chosen by staff to service on the Staff Council for two years, and Chair of the Council for one year.

Fall 2007 Semester Long Term Substitute for approximately 60 AP Modern European History (1350 - Present) students and 35 General American History (1865 - Present) students; Spring 2008 Semester supported the daily high school mission and operation as In-School Suspension Supervisor of 8-12 students per day and Building Substitute as needed.
