I collaborate with a team of engineers at Ontario Tech’s ACE to design effective solutions for our facility and clients. I maintain mission critical systems both on-site and in the cloud, and I continuously improve the software and hardware. I provide budget friendly upgrades, and lead our team with my knowledge of computer systems to integrate new technologies and offer improved capabilities to our customers. I collaborate with innovative researchers and support academic studies and tests with software solutions. I configure software and hardware, I design custom applications, and I collaborate to provide compute solutions across the full stack. I advise the team on technical challenges related to software and lead the team to design, develop, and implement modular re-usable solutions.

I supported daily operations and executed customer development work. In parallel, I worked with the on-site engineering team to complete project work and facility improvements in the areas of automation, controls, and data science. I developed software and implemented data pipelines for various sensors, hardware, and controls. I created software to handle devices using ethernet TCP/IP, and even RS485 serial. Additionally, I have built LabVIEW applications for NI chassis and integrated these with automation tools.

I worked under licensed professional engineers supporting various software and electrical development projects. Primarily, I developed embedded software on the Jetson TX2 platform to communicate with and process data from different sensors using C and Python. I utilized machine learning and different data science tools to get the most value from the data and sensors I was working with; some of the tools I used included Pandas, Tensorflow, Sklearn, and Matplotlib.

I joined the Ontario Tech Engineering Outreach team as a work-study student to create engaging activities for school aged children from JK to Grade 12. I worked to develop programs and curriculum delivered to over 500+ school aged children which exposed younger students to future career possibilities in STEM. The activities I developed focused on entry level technologies and activities they can do today to get involved or get a head start. I created hands on activities using Arduino, Micro-bit, Javascript, and Python to teach introductory engineering design concepts for different grade levels.
