While the Tech Lead, I was responsible for assisting, mentoring, and architecting cloud solutions. This also included developmental and on-call support of call center infrastructure for medicaid enrollment and benefit management for millions of people. I also assisted in technological decisions for auditing platforms, asset management, and securing infrastructure and code. Some accomplishments include:* I migrated our CI/CD pipeline from Github actions Virtual machine runner to Kubernetes (Azure AKS) containers. This cut costs from around $200,000 just in Azure hosting costs down to approx $42,000 annually. It also decreased the recycle time of runners from 5 -10 minutes down to 15 seconds on average. The system also provided the functionality to create custom lightweight runners designed for specific tasks rather than heavy “kitchen sink” master workers. This had the additional advantage of vastly improving our ability to adhere to a true CI/CD system because of the ready availability of build runners and the ability to apply cross-cutting concerns to our builds* Migrated systems (Octopus Deploy, TeamCity) from more expensive Azure locations to less expensive regions saving thousands of dollars a year while also maintaining SLDC (System Development Life Cycle) process auditability* I converted a difficult log archival system from client-based .Net system to client-less flexible orchestrated system based on Ansible

As an Architect and Technical Lead I was responsible for the complete architecture and design of the new Utah state employees' retirement fund CRM using Agile methodologies. This system was designed to handle all the financial retirement transactions for a nearly over 170,000 employees and a multi-billion dollar portfolio. I am also responsible for the oversight of development standards, team mentoring, code-reviews (inc. unit testing) for a team of nine developers.

Senior Engineer - Critical Problem Resolution. I was responsible for resolving extreme engineering issues and working with clients on emergency situations. This demanded rapid evaluation of software defects, inadequacies, and functional mismatches and the creation of permanent architecturally sound solutions.

Seamless, LLC is an online ecommerce company specializing in food ordering and delivery service with last year annual revenues of over $900 million dollars. As a senior engineer I was responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of many facets of the Seamless “software as a service” offering. This development is in C#.NET, MVC, and SQL server and includes all unit, integration and acceptance testing necessary to guarantee quality and reliability. Systems I was directly responsible for designing and implementing...• PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance, data conversion, and critical information encryption and management tools. (Over a billion dollars and 120 million transactions worth of ecommerce have gone through this compliance system to date. C#.NET)• Promotion Management and Rule-Base evaluation system – I personally designed and implemented this system. It allows the end user to manage their own promotions and deals through the Seamless SaaS system. It is designed for “big data” enterprise applications with both upward and outward scalability. It utilizes event driven messaging and modular, dynamic logic in a “functional” programming methodology. Load tests showed the ability to handle over 50 million promotion evaluation operations a minute in a 3 node load-balanced environment. Additional nodes scales linearly. • System Fulfillment Metrics and Scoring Service – This service monitors the status and conditions of a end-user’s order. It gathers metrics about the reliability of the vendors to provide notifications and delivery of goods in an appropriate manner. Using reductive logic, event messaging, event storage, and machine learning against transitory data it calculates aggregate information about a vendors reliability in real-time. This service was also designed for “big data” enterprise applications and scales both upward and outward with phenomenal performance.

My duty as a software engineer at the Church was primarily the development of a world-wide web-based resource management system for the education system of the church (WISE) using the Microsoft MVC framework. This WISE system was designed to handle over 2,000 discrete religious programs, including a user base of approx. 800,000 students and 4,000 teachers and administrators, and 16,000 volunteers world-wide. The system was developed to handle:• Student self-service enrollment in religious institutes• Administration of all seminary (high school) and institute (college) programs • Administration of physical resources• Administration of classes, scheduling, enrollment, grading, and attendance• Student record and transcript management

My primary duties included the development of the Spillman website, web applications, and both windows and web programming, the administration of the Sharepoint workgroup system, and the administration of the new virtual server infrastructure. My extended responsibilities as part of the IT department included network administration, hardware setup and maintenance, database administration, and all other activities associated with the running, care, and development of the company’s technological infrastructure.
