I work as a computational researcher with Dr. Vangaveti and act as a group leader in the summer bioinformatics program. Through the use of all atom molecular dynamics simulations and docking software, potential drug molecules can be tested and optimized. To assess drug performance, statistical analysis and data visualization were performed. Additionally, the results were written into a manuscript for publication.

I worked with a teacher and other teaching assistants to help teach a class of college freshman the basics of computational genomics. The SEA-PHAGES curricula was taught to the students and they were guided through genome analysis, identification of genes, function determination, and research presentation. As a teaching assistant, I worked with a group of students to demonstrate the material, explain the concepts in multiple ways, keep the students on track to complete assignments, and work with them to create publication worthy text and posters.

I worked under Dr. Benjamin King on a research team computationally investigating differential gene response to Influenza A Virus in WHIM zebrafish. The work was performed as a part of the Genomics Research Collaborative, which is funded by INBRE and the NIH.Additionally, we are updating a transcription factor analysis software package (NetACT) to work with Zebrafish genomic data.

I worked with Dr. Vangaveti to research the mechanism of an antiviral drug against COVID through the use of all atom molecular dynamics simulations.
