Principal Process Engineer, System Modeling And Simulation
Current• Develop innovative modular solar thermal technology for generation and storage of reliable steam, power, and hydrogen fuel from conceptualization to design, testing, scaling, and deployment• Manage DOE-funded demonstration project and lead a multi-disciplinary team across different organizations, generate deliverables, and manage schedules, milestones, and stakeholders• Perform fit-for-purpose first-principal calculations, system, process, and control modeling, run simulation, and conduct feasibility studies, performance evaluation, optimization, techno-economic analysis • Lead the design and modeling of processes and key equipment including boilers, reactors, cycles, heat exchangers, storage vessels, solar equipment, and balance of plant, and manage vendors and EPCs.• Design mechanical products and equipment, execute testing at our demo facility and national lab, and conduct commissioning, data analysis to validate hypotheses, calibrate models, troubleshoot processes• Conduct technology down-select, feasibility studies, de-risking, and engineering due diligence in support of technology development, proposals, projects, pre-FEED, and FEED• Generate and review requirements, specifications, design basis, HMB, PFDs, P&IDs, control philosophy, and operating procedures, commission manual, and participate in HAZOP and FMEA• For a team of six, set goals, workflow, program roadmap, and procedures, lead budgeting, hiring, run meetings, and supervise and mentor junior engineers
