Facilitation Management –Transition Readiness Seminars were divided into two categories Executive Career Transition Seminars consisting of MSgt (E8) to Col. (O6); Separation Class PFC (E2) to Sgt. (E5). Facilitated the DoD mandated Military Occupational Crosswalk (MOC) portion of the TRS Seminars. The MOC Crosswalk assist the Marines in identifying their current Military Occupational Code and how it translates to a civilian occupation. Worked with recruits (CACI, Lockheed Martin, Booz/Allen/ Hamilton) to present opportunities via in person or virtually during the session. Presenters would target their presentation to the skill level and experience of the participants. Facilitated a total of 17 TRS Classes with a total of 401 Marines served. Training -Conduct the training of the USMC Unit Transition Coordinators (UTC) for the National Capital Region in accordance with Marine Corp Order 1700.31, “Transition Readiness Program.” and MAR ADM 632/19. UTC are trained to facilitate all transition activities with the Transition Assistance Program office. UTC will identify and meet with Marines to discuss items and expectations in preparation to complete: Initial Counseling, Pre-Separation Counseling, TRS, and Capstone. Sourcing Implementation – Completed 260+ Individual Initial Counseling (IC) Sessions in accordance with MARADMIN 632/19 to verify all pre-work has been provide to the Transition Readiness office. This is where the Marine would be assigned their Tier Level (1-3) based on factors discussed during counseling based on their post separation/retirement goals. Utilize “My Next Move for Veteran” website to enter in their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) to assist in identifying potential post Marine Corp career opportunities. Screen and qualified separating/retiring Marines to refer to potential employer partners such as: Montgomery County Parks& Planning, DC Superior Courts, United States Capitol Police to name a few.
Coordinator Of Employment Outreach
Project Coordination – Spearheaded and marketed the Fall 2019 Internship Fair with an overall budget of $2,500.00 dollars. Identified 40 employers that represent the government, non-profit and private sector and register them for the internship fair. The fair was attended by 315 students and 5 faculty members. Applicant Tracking System – Utilized Handshake to market on campus recruiting events (internships or employment via email or twitter to students based on their major and grade level that match the position which the employer was looking for. Created job posting for employers. Collected data from 200+ graduating seniors at the end of each term (Fall, Spring) to completed the First Destination Survey and enter the information In to Handshake. First-Destination Survey captures information regarding how new college graduates fare in their careers within six months of graduation. Sourcing Implementation – Strategically worked with Deans and Department Chairs within each of the four school and college on campus. Assessing the types of internships needed bases on the majors within those four schools and colleges and screened qualified students. Students successfully received internships with: Internal Revenue Service; District of Columbia Superior Court Office of the Audit Master; Smithsonian, U.S. Department of Transportation.
