Sims Metal Management is the world's largest scrap metal recycling company. Publicly traded in Australia, it operates approximately 250 facilities in 20 countries. SMM engages in the purchase and processing of ferrous, non-ferrous, and electronic waste materials which it sells to end consumers in the form of smelters, steel mills, and refiners.-Lead optimization of ICFR (SOX) program by standardizing process-risk-control alignment to the reported financials, key control language, and test attributes to allow for targeted and consistent testing approach.-Co-implemented Accelus GRC electronic audit workpaper system.-Manages financial, operarational, and IT audit projects.-Provides on-going training, coaching, and mentoring to staff and senior auditors on team initiatives, testing/auditing techniques, and electronic workpaper system usage.

Responsible for managing the planning and execution operational, IT, and SOX audits for domestic and international operations covering all four AMCOL business segments covering mining, manufacturing, logistics, and service industries.

Member of the Supply Chain audit team and later the International audit team that worked on audits in US, Canada, Panama and China focused on logistics and order to cash processes. My key successes were:1) Improving the use of data analytics on my audits as part of our department development goals, 2) Identified process improvement and in-source opportunity for a previously out-sourced tax related service that generated $374k in savings for 2012 and recurring tax savings of the same amounts in future years, and3) Leveraged SAP and Business Intelligence knowledge to help our China business develop more effective Business Object reporting to improve business oversight and internal controls.

Member of the Manufacturing, Wholesale and Distribution audit group located in Schaumburg, IL. Responsible for staffing and senioring audit engagements for mid-sized clients. Additionally, I was able to participate FDIC bank closures and an acquisition due diligence project.
