D. Eric Krone, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist, Special Emphasis Program Manager (SEPM), Federal Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Mediator and EEO Counselor and Trainer/Teacher, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his position within the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).Eric completed his military career with the U. S. Army on July 31, 2014, with over 22 years of service. Eric served and deployed with the 20th Engineer Brigade (Combat) (Airborne) as the Equal Opportunity Advisor for Operation New Dawn, and he served as an Equal Opportunity Instructor/Facilitator at the prestigious Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) in Cocoa Beach, FL before retiring.After retiring from military service, Eric worked with Narcoossee Elementary School in the Osceola County School District as a special educator for grades two, three and five before accepting a selection to Federal service with the USACE Omaha District on March 18, 2024.​While at USACE Eric acquired valuable experience within the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Gaining a greater understanding of the intersectionality between human resources, equal employment opportunity, affirmative employment, diversity, and inclusion.Eric has written the agency’s MD-715 report, conducted special emphasis observances, served as counselor, trainer and advisor to command and staff. Eric has spearheaded multiple data analysis initiatives such as the Disabled Veterans Resources Report, and the Demographics Analysis Report (comparison of the workforce versus the hiring population and management demographics). Eric’s responsibilities include periodic site visits to provide consultation services, which include coaching, mentoring, and guidance with all aspects of the Six Essential Elements of a Model EEO Program, per EEO guidelines.Eric has partnered with schools, universities and organizations providing analysis, assessments, and recommendations for workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a former Special Emphasis Program Manager and Equal Opportunity Advisor, Eric understands the dedication, hard work, and frustration of a SEPM firsthand.Eric routinely provides guidance with fielding questions from USACE management officials, and employees relating to EEO policies, regulations, and directives.
