The DISN-TE is a telecommunications collection and distribution point that provides deployed Warfighters with multi-band, multimedia, and worldwide reach back to the DISN. Remote users will access pre-positioned DISN services at strategically located DISN-TE sites. These services consist of Defense Switched Network (DSN), NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, VTC, Commercial Internet, and Commercial voice services. The JNOC is the technical focal point for mission provisioning, activation, tracking, and troubleshooting for worldwide JCSE DISN-TE assets and customers. Duties include support for iDirect based satellite communication networks, technical support for a wide range of military and commercial satellite communications terminals, and technical support for a variety of mobile/deployable data package/kits. JNOC Engineers are responsible for the configuration, management, monitoring, and troubleshooting for the DISN-TE network architecture responsible for service delivery to remote users accessing each of the DISN-TE network stacks. These duties include responsibility for the DISN-TE perimeter security components consisting of Cisco ASA firewalls and Bluecoat ProxySG proxy servers.
