I am all about how to make a living in the visual arts making the art you love. I don't mean commercial art, I'm talking fine art. I give talks to groups, like Nashville's Artcamp 2014. I do four-hour intensives for small groups, up to twelve. And I do one-to-one coaching. They all work.Why? I'm one artist who decided not to starve. Today I am a full-time working artist with gallery representation in the US and Western Europe, collectors, publications, awards and museum permanent collections. I am passionate making art. I draw and paint, but my gallery success has been primarily in printmaking and lens-based art. I hold a BFA from Newark College of the Arts. But my day job on the way up was tenured PhD professor of Entrepreneurship at Cal State, where I founded the Minor in Entrepreneurship for students from the College of the Arts. Now I don't need my day job any more. Starving artist is a choice. Prosperous artist is a different choice. While I was in art school, I chose to prosper. And I never looked back.
