Emergency Response Team (Promoted to EI-III in Feb. 2016)• Respond to emergency response (ER) events (24hr On-call), to specifically discharges or spills that impact the environment; conduct and coordinate on-site investigations;• Maintain a technical knowledge of Title 30 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 327 - Spill Prevention and Control, and a working knowledge 30 TAC Chapter 330 – Municipal Solid Waste, 30 TAC Chapter 335 – Industrial Solid Waste and Municipal Hazardous Waste, and Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) (RCRA);• Provide technical assistance and oversight on ER and remediation events to regulated communities, general public, and governmental agencies on state and federal environmental rules and regulations;• Provide coverage/response to statewide natural disasters;• Deployed to the Corpus Christi Region in response to Hurricane Harvey in August 2017;• Conduct soil and water sampling and air monitoring in response to ER events; • Maintain readiness to respond by ensuring safety and response equipment is available and calibrated;• Coordinate with federal, state, and local government agencies during ER events and use NIMS/ICS Unified Command protocols.

• Conducted scheduled compliance investigations and site assessments at municipal solid waste and industrial and hazardous waste facilities in accordance with state and federal environmental rules and regulations; and prepare associated investigation (technical) reports;• Maintained a technical knowledge of Title 30 TAC Chapters 324, 326, 330, 335, and 337, and 40 CFR;• Reviewed facility plans, permits, process information, and hazardous material/chemical Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s); • Conducted sampling events (soil/water/air) and review analytical reports to determine compliance;• Responded to environmental complaints and emergency spill response events (24hr On-call);• Provided technical assistance to the regulated communities, general public, and governmental agencies on state and federal environmental rules and regulations;• Developed GIS maps to help in plan hazardous waste investigations and emergency response events.

Worked on research study to evaluate relationships between spatial and/or environmental attributes and bark beetle out-breaks.• Utilized free online data resources including aerial photography, digital elevation models, and weather data to provide examples of low cost management methods.• Developed weather and land use coverage maps using spatial analysis techniques as a means to establish GIS-based tools for pest management (i.e. spatial and environmental attributes were related to possible reasons for beetle out-breaks). Software used included ArcGIS, Spatial Analyst, Fragstats 3.3, Microsoft Excel.
