The different positions I have held over a 30-year period have complemented my analytic nature and interest in gathering and deciphering information to decode and understand markets. Since 2000, I have been providing management consulting services to private companies, not-for-profit and government organizations alike, and have held Consultant, Senior Consultant and Vice President positions. Previously, I have worked five years for a municipal sector not-for-profit economic development organisation assisting start-up companies. This involved evaluating the overall business project feasibility and planning, including the targeted markets' potential. Lastly, I have also worked for a few SMEs in their business development efforts in Canada and the U.S.My expertise centers around being able to identify business opportunities both on domestic and export markets, as well as designing and updating business strategies, as detailed here: • Reviewing key trends in the marketplace and their implications for the client;• Evaluating competitors’ strategies/business models; • Confirming potential competitive advantages;• Validating potential interest towards a product, service or concept being tested;• Determining the appeal of different markets and market segments (market size, development potential) to guide market selection and targeting priorities;• Identifying market opportunities and threats;• Providing support to prepare and implement a marketing plan and an action plan;• Elaborating the design or update of a strategic plan with the top management, including required support market research work;• Completing SWOT, PESTLE and competitve analyses;• Facilitating of strategic planning sessions.My work experience as a consultant has allowed me to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of several market sectors, namely agri-food, ornamental horticulture and electric mobility.
