Currently a physics PhD student researcher under Dr. David Cobden in the UW Nanodevice Physics Lab (https://sites.google.com/uw.edu/nanodevice-physics). While I have several ongoing projects, my main focus is electrical transport in 2D semimetals, particularly graphene and WTe2. This role has a broad scope--I am responsible for all stages of device fabrication, measurement, and data characterization. Additionally, I am responsible for multiple cryogenic systems (both conventional wet and dry cryostats and a dilution refrigerator), I design and machine components for new measurement tools, and I supervise several undergraduate students.

Bryan/College Station, Texas Area

Participated in an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at the Texas A&M Cyclotron Institute. Developed novel waveform analysis methods in an effort to improve gamma ray spectroscopy energetic resolution over conventional ADC techniques for a new cesium iodide gamma ray detector array. Optimized and extended existing software framework for large data throughput processing and recording. Wrote a suite of offline C++ code for ROOT that processed those waveforms using fast Fourier transforms, applied fits, and then created and fit gamma ray energy spectra. Presented accepted research at the 2019 Fall meeting of the Division of Nuclear Physics of the American Physical Society.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

Collaborated with developers, UX designers, and clinicians in an agile development environment toimprove risk mitigation, alarm fatigue reduction, and workflow efficiency in clinical environments. Contributed to continued development, testing, and improvement of globally deployed software and toolkits. Developed frontend status indicator application for risk mitigation of the Connect for Clinical Systems software platform for Class IIb Medical Device certification. Also wrote driver plug-ins to integrate with novel architecture of core software platforms, offering improved scalability and compatibility for existing company intellectual property.

Greater Pittsburgh Area

Worked under Professor Randall Feenstra in the 2D Center of the CMU Physics Department, utilizing metallic exfoliation, molecular beam epitaxy, and tunneling electron microscopy in a lab environment to explore novel 2D heterostructures for potential use in electronics. Maintained, assembled, and operated various UHV systems, e.g. scanning tunneling microscopy systems.
