Managing the Information Security Risk Management Team at UCLA to protect the creation, dissemination, preservation and application of knowledge for the betterment of our global society.Previous experience includes managing overall Information Security for a global high-performance semiconductor, IoT systems and Cloud connectivity service provider, managing Information Security Risk for one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the United States, and supporting/sustaining critical systems at the Department of Defense.I'm very security-risk averse and love finding ways to maintain/increase security controls while striving to have minimal impact on business processes. I endeavor to expand my technical knowledge while managing a diverse team, and helping end-users understand *why* security is important!Some of my experience includes implementing new, and managing existing, security tools/systems, reviewing architectures and configurations, proposing/evaluating controls to protect business needs, reviewing 3rd party and supply chain risk, and conducting web application vulnerability scanning. Also coordinating 3rd party penetration tests and subsequent remediation, overseeing vulnerability management, and working to improve security processes in accordance with well-known security frameworks.
