About Eric Leverentz
I am a strong advocate for building a more equitable society and future! My passion is ADHD/Autism awareness, something I have a personal connection too, and using innovation to save lives and our planet. I love my role, raising essential, lifesaving money but I am now looking to progress my career and personal growth. I am seeking a more engaging role in which I can affect greater change! Either through returning to my roots in engineering, bringing my unique soft skills or by progressing in the non profit sector using my technical background and strong base in fundraisingI always look to learn more, be it culturally, technically or politically and love to delve into new unexplored topics. Lately I have been refining one area I felt I had been lacking from academia, soft skills like communication and negotiation, and through the job of fundraising have met an amazing cast of people taking every opportunity to grow possible. I also love digital and physical art, initially partaking in this as a hobby doing graphic design for family and friends, and creating fantasy art for my own enjoyment, but I now take commissions and have built font packages and logos.I am currently working for Concern Worldwide following graduating in mechatronic engineering. Here I am a valuable member of the direct dialogue team, working as a team leader for street fundraising, and previously remotely working directly on a large scale fund-raising campaign. I take great pride in my work for Concern, aligning closely with their mission statement and have learnt an incredible amount about how international aid works. They have also offered me opportunities to help coordinate the London Marathon, improve the donor journey through personal welcome calls, and create a company newsletter. I have also had the unique opportunity to work part time for Constructive News, a German media non-profit. This was working on setting up the ground work for a UK business partnerships and fundraising division. This was a phenomenal opportunity that demonstrated how deep this sector can go and has further inspierd me to reach higher!
Listed skills include Negotiation, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Matlab, and 8 others.

Team Leader
CurrentWithin my first year of employment was able to secure a promotion into team management, and since then have taken a large number of opportunities to widen my skillset and experience. As a team leader I train street fundraisers, whilst still engaging in obtaining monthly donations for Concern Worldwide on the street. My regular training of new members requires an in-depth knowledge of the organisation as well as a high level of empathy and understanding, due to this I now would be a strong fit for many non profit roles!A particular challenge in an industry which gets you a lot of negativity and rejection is motivating my teams. To achieve this I learnt more about our organisation to drive passion within a team, for example I will reference out projects and achievements to fill us with pride! I also built resilient mindsets on my teams, a key factor in which being putting myself in their position to get signups, showing them it is possible.Due to me being proactive and opportunities being offered I have been able to expand my responsibilities to further my development. This includes creating an internal department newsletter promoting knowledge of the organisation; weekly welcome calls to new signups, improving their journey as a supporter; and on the day, helping coordinate our London marathon presence. I was even honoured with being interviewed, by Concern as a face for our fundraising division, I have linked this below for your convenience. This job has allowed me to develop into an excellent communicator and refine soft skills not regularly utilised in my STEM degree. I also developed a real passion for the non-profit sector.
Ration Challenge Coach
During the Covid19 pandemic I was one of only 2 senior fundraising staff members at Concern Worldwide chosen to help remotely with a major fundraising campaign from our Belfast office.I worked on a small team of 3 with 2 senior directors helping to keep the Ration Challenge running effectively, a campaign previously shortlisted as "Fundraising Campaign of the Year" by the 2020 National Fundraising Awards. Whilst there was initially concerns about the impact of Covid19 on the campaign with our help it managed to exceed the previous years total! having raised around £1.5m at the time this was composed. I was proud to have participated in branded promotional content for the event, being featured in our welcome and thank you videos as I linked below. Also for our Facebook group, I created creative content that boosted our communities’ engagement, some of it being creative ways to use the kits we provided! The group in question I additionally helped moderate and answer questions on.It was also important for me to respond to supporters via email, tackling potential issues whilst fostering warm supporter relations, this really helped me develop a professional online voice. And very essentially, as a coach, I provided active support to campaign fundraisers over the phone, reaching out to provide information on how they best raise funds, suggesting things from Facebook posts to bake sales.
Graphic Designer
CurrentI recently started taking on commissions for graphic design work under the name Taavie Designs, most recently completed a large paid project for a wilderness non-profit called Sylvan Kin. Using a reference board software called Pureref I collaboratively worked with the client to brainstorm a name and logo for their brand, over a zoom call I compiled emotions, colours and images to understand what was wanted. In the end I delivered a high-quality scalable logo in SVG format as well as PNG, including some alternate colour versions on request. It contained multiple references to the subject the non profit works on and had a somewhat nostalgic and warm colour scheme. I also delivered a full custom font package (0-9, a-z, A-Z) in TIFF format, I was really proud of this achievement as it involved the acquisition of a new technical skillset and learning about typesetting.
Uk Partnerships & Fundraising Manager
I worked closely with the CEO in Germany part time. My aim was to establish a UK corporate fundraising and partnerships base. The first step was researching UK company databases that matched our target demographic, calling them, and provided a call-based pitch that I had built from an in-person pitch deck I was presented. I was able to use my experience working with Concern Worldwide to deliver concise and impactful pitches.A highlight for me was being able to put my technical knowledge to good use as I noticed the company email signatures were somewhat simple and not identifiable, I used HTML and vector design software to build a new signature that would work across most email servers. This aided in corporate email communication making us look more professionalDue to a slow uptick I posed an alternative revenue stream of attending networking events, whilst this was not immediately taken up I created attractive business cards for such events that lined up with company branding, and overall was very proud of my work here. I really enjoyed my time working here, and with a more dedicated workspace and more time to commit I would be more than happy to pursue it in the future.
Street Fundraiser
Even after promotion I still have these responsibilities, and will regularly still fundraise as I am effective at what I do and can be a key role model. This position involved working in a team in a variety of London sites interacting with members of the public. As a street fundraiser I interact politely with members of the public to inform them of what Concern Worldwide does and encourage them to subscribe to a monthly donation scheme. This work was done with weekly targets (donors per day) which I had to keep too. I regularly would exceed said targets. This job required strong negotiation and influencing skills and was a great opportunity to develop in areas that I would not have experienced otherwise. Moreover, it honed my confidence, personable interactivity and soft skills.
Barback
This position comprised of a variety of roles, working opening and closing shifts. Within this job organisation was key as unmet deadlines had extensive downstream effects. The work required in this position included, but was not limited too; Glass Cleaning/Collection, Preparing cocktail batches and special ingredients, Interacting with customers, Completing large deliveries, Organisation of storage, Setting up bar stations, Checking stock and Preparing basic drinks. This position provided experience working as a part of a well organised fast moving team, improving my teamwork abilities and quick thinking as often you would need to solve problems without guidance.
