Storms and its trend in an altered climate, and socio-economic impacts.More specifically, my contribution to this project has been to:- Collect model and observation data from different meteorological services and to define corresponding periods of interest. - Asses using a GIS how the strong wind speed episodes are distributed over Switzerland, and what are the connections with typical macro-meteorological situations, - Check the correspondence between observations and model data in term of frequency.During this mission, I gained a cutting edge knowledge about cyclone climatology, storm tracking, down-scaling techniques and sub-grid parameterization of wind gust physically based.
