I started work on AMHQ, the network's morning show, where I mainly built segments and wrote scripts. I applied and was chosen to work on the show Weather Underground, which is a unique program for the network. I now spend most of the day editing video and locating and formatting archived footage for air. I also select the videos and write the scripts for our 6-Pack segment featuring the days best video. In addition I use the service Capture, as well as independent searches to find fresh user-generated content to air each day.

Produced local daily newscasts for ABC/NBC duopoly. I chose which stories would air in the newscasts, write them, and format them for air.I created graphics for stories – including fullscreens, monitor graphics and ots graphics – using a program called Axis graphics.

Newport Television - Fox30/Cbs47

Produced official Jacksonville Jaguars pregame show. This involved working with various television stations and NFL teams to coordinate live, on-the-field broadcasts. I also helped choose which stories to run each week and wrote a number of the segments.Produced station specials for various professional and collegiate sporting events, including the Daytona 500, The Players Championship, the Super Bowl and a number of Florida Gator team events.Produced sportscasts for the daily news broadcast and a weekly 30-minute sports show. I helped write the scripts and format the rundown. I also helped shoot the segments, conduct interviews and edit the video.

Produced local daily newscasts in a top 50 market for FOX30 and CBS47. To accomplish this I'd combine my ideas with those of the reporters, assignment managers and anchors to come up with stories that would best speak to our audience.I wrote the bulk of the stories, including the headlines and teases meant to increase and maintain viewer interest. I also helped write AP style versions of stories for the stations' websites. Worked closely with the video editors and graphics department to showcase our biggest stories.Once the show would begin, it was my responsibility to keep it on time, and to create a way to get any new, important information on the air as quickly and cleanly as possible. All of this was done on a strict deadline.

Edited video for daily newscasts using both linear and non-linear equipment, including Avid, Final Cut Pro and Edius editing software. This required a close attention to detail to ensure the video used matched the script written.I was chosen by the executive producer and chief meteorologist to edit the station's annual hurricane special in 2006 and 2007. This position also required a high level of organizational skills, as I was responsible for keeping the tapes in order and running them at the appropriate time during the newscast.
