Responsible for directing applied and advanced research and development (R&D) programs within the Information and Analysis Division. Directed all aspects of R&D activities including requirements collection, program development, fiscal management, execution and transition of technologies in alignment with DoD goals and objectives. Served as a principal advisor and technical expert in utilizing, developing, integrating, and executing applied science, engineering, and development programs to combat weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). Planned, coordinated, integrated, and executed program activities in the areas of modeling, simulation, data management and analysis, training and exercise support, situational awareness, agent fate, transport and dispersion, disease propagation, disease surveillance, operational effects analysis and risk assessment. Represented DTRA in technical and programmatic discussions with representatives from DoD, other US government agencies, and foreign governments. Led DTRA participation in data-sharing initiatives across the DoD. Directed multi-organizational collaborative research efforts. Served as agency focal point for efforts involving data, modeling, and analysis tools for the DoD's Chemical and Biological Defense Program. Coordinated and managed inter-agency data management efforts. Coordinated and conducted inter-agency workshops and conferences. Instigated and directed analysis of budget and program data acquired from the Defense Agency Initiative system (DAI) and the Joint Service Chemical Biological Information System (JSCBIS).
