Associate Planner
Current•Interpret and explain planning policies and zoning regulations to the public and to members of the development community. •Act as project planner on development projects from initial contact by the developer through the approval process and construction. •Prepare staff reports on a variety of advance and current planning topics and present them at public meetings, including Planning Commission. •Facilitate discussion of development projects and issues at neighborhood meetings. •Plan and format planning studies and provide technical guidance to staff in preparation of required documents and visual presentations.•Implement the City's environmental review process and prepared/reviewed environmental documentation for consistency with State law and City regulations.•Evaluate and process a wide range of planning applications including use permits, subdivisions, design review, and ordinance amendments.•Review building permit plan checks for compliance with discretionary approvals.•Evaluate improvement plans for consistency with approved subdivisions.•Inspect public and private development projects to determine compliance with planning requirements.•Conduct Land Use and Development Code compliance review.
