About Eric Luther

I still vividly remember the thrill of running my first program. A short AmigaBASIC introduction type thing copied from page 29 of the AmigaBASIC Inside and Out (written by Hannes Rugheimer and Christian Spanik). I've tried a few different things in life but I'm still chasing the high of watching 4 little balls bounce around my screen.Probably in pursuit of that, I've spent the last 14 years running Linux and the last 7 getting paid to do it. Running code. Designing and describing support structures and communication channels. Building automation. It all still gets me excited. I love the variety of tools, platforms and challenges I encounter in this industry and the journey of getting to know them.As a professional I care about trying to communicate well, making people's lives easier with automation and creating long term sustainable solutions. I'm always looking to improve my skill set and see some new technology.When I'm not working I like to spend time with my family, play video games, tinker on my home automation and hike the beautiful PNW.
