As Community Services Manager, I evaluate, implement, coordinate and promote community programs for targeted groups of our CAF community. I also develop and maintain ties with community groups, support agencies, schools or other organizations to enhance programs and services and prevent duplication of programs and/or services. In addition, I manage employees, liaises with co-workers and other MFS locations to develop and share best practices, and participates in professional development workshops and staff meetings. Finally, I ensure chain of command goals and objectives are met, and with the MFS Europe Advisory Committee representative to assist with collection of community needs information.

Under the direction of the Senior Manager Recreation Programs, as the National Recreation Coordinator, I provide assistance in researching, monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of National Recreation policy; provide policy interpretation and recommend courses of action to Base Wing Unit (B/W/U). I also coordinate, implement and evaluate the operations and delivery of National Recreation programs, conferences and services. Furthermore, I develop, coordinate, implement and deliver financial and administrative practices and procedures for National Recreation programs and services. Lastly, I contribute to the establishment of partnering initiatives by recreation services staff at national and local levels with national/provincial/municipal recreation and leisure services organizations and associations.During my time as National Recreation Coordinator, I have received the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff's coin from Lieutenant-General Guy Thibault, the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Service Commanding Officer's coin from Cmdre Mark Watson, as well as the CFS Alert Commanding Officer's coin from Maj Scott Marshall.
