I served as a Policy and Research Intern in the Office of State Senator Royce West before the start of the 89th legislative session. I will be returning in the spring as a full-time intern during the 89th. Responsibilities included:- Conduct research on legislation Senator West plans on filing in the 89th legislative session. Research includes relevant statutory background, problems the legislation would address, Senator co-author picks, House sponsor picks, and potential supporters/witnesses- Research and present three proposals of legislation for the legislative director to review and recommend to Senator West for filing in the 89th legislative session. One proposal is advancing in the legislative planning process in Senator West’s office.
