Responsible for Xenapp, VMware horizon view, and netscaler support for multiple hospital systems across the United States. I have been an integral part of Xenapp remediation and modernization efforts across 8 regional markets and greatly enjoy the development and deployment of the updated and standardized xenapp environments. I am currently the sole support person for a VMware view deployment in the Boston area, as well as an enterprise wide Citrix Deployment serving tens of thousands of users.

Responsible for the design and implementation of BYOD technologies including xenserver, esxi, xenapp, xendesktop, and thin clients. In my time with Hangar9 I was a part of a team that worked to consolidate multiple hospital data centers into a single hosted datacenter designed with multiple redundancies and disaster failover. I additionally developed BYOD solutions which included Thin Client devices utilizing Xenapp for our support teams, and virtually any device that could run a citrix client for doctors and nurses throughout all of the Vanguard hospitals across the country. This primarily consisted of Xenapp servers running in our main datacenter on both Xenserver and ESXi hosts with EMC and HP storage backends over high speed data networks.

Responsible for design and implementation of Enterprise Virtual infrastructure VMware Horizon View, Windows Servers, Active Directory, SAN, and Linux Servers. In yy time with Vanguard I most enjoyed the development and implementation of a horizon view environment for the coding staff which successfully mitigated a number of on going issues and improved coding throughput. This was made possible by implementing a new virtualization environment distributed across 2 hospital datacenters. This same infrastructure was used to virtualize both hospital datacenters and eliminate old hardware

Responsible for design and implementation of Enterprise Virtual infrastructure and all Linux based servers throughout the company, as well as administering the corporate Active Directory. I was originally brought to Caritas to manage all the Linux based eClinicalWorks servers and to help in the development and implementation of a large Vmware environment The Vmware environment was implemented using Dell R710 servers connecting over 10Gbe using Cisco nexus switches to NFS data stores hosted on a Netapp San. We also created a 2nd environment specifically for the Caritas Meditech systems, also using Dell servers but with an IBM XIV connected via fiber. Between the 2 environments more than half of all servers have been virtualized and the initiative is still underway for any remaining physical servers. I have worked with view and xen desktop using both Dell servers and Cisco UCS. Using Windows, Linux, and Wyse thin clients as the end user devices. Vmware site recovery manager was implemented to help rapidly recover all major applications between the 2 Caritas colocation Data Centers that I participated in building. I have also used Vmware Lab Manager to help rapidly and cost effectively implement lab/test/dev/sandbox environments for both Meditech and Microsoft Amalga. One of the things I enjoyed doing at Caritas the most was participating in white papers and industry videos in conjunction with Dell, Netapp, and Microsoft. The brief change of pace was both fun and interesting. I also scripted out nightly backup and restarts of all the eClinicalWorks Linux servers as required by the vendor, scripted restarts of all the Meditech systems for reboots after patching and software upgrades. Implemented a wiki for Systems Engineering documentation and procedures, and a Password Manager application to securely store all system passwords and finely tune the correct authorization parameters of who has access to what passwords.
