Took courses relating to varied aspects of Biomedical Engineering, including Thermodynamics, Material Science, Statistics, Biomaterials, Biomechanics, Transport Fundamentals, Biomedical Instrumentation, Biocomputing, Signals, and Quantitative Physiology.

I conducted independent research on quantifying the proteins in the extracellular matrix of carotid arteries, through histology, mechanical testing, PCR, dissections, mechanical testing, and data analysis. In addition, my concentration was determining the mechanical contribution of elastin and collagen in mouse carotid arteries for modeling purposes. I presented a journal article and poster at the national BMES conference in Austin, Texas.

I worked as an intern at this management consulting firm for two summers to learn how they approach, analyze, and solve problems. I performed information technology research, shadowed business analysts, and interned through restoring and imaging computers.
