About Eric Martello
As we continue to evolve in our lives and careers, I continue to pursue new goals and have a vision of wanting to achieve my goal within the NWS as a leader, mentor, and scientist, and decision support specialist (IDSS). Employers searching for a positive, energetic leader for their office or business would find those qualities in myself and past work history. As we move into better ways to improve IDSS to best serve our end users and core partners, I continue to participate and lead within several NWS outreach programs. Such programs include co-leading the StormReady and Weather Ready Nation Ambassador program across 46 counties in north-central Texas. I also engage in public speaking frequently through SKYWARN spotter training, hazardous weather safety training, and career opportunities for college students and our youth moving through primary and secondary education within our local school districts (ISDs). I have a lovely wife Laura who I met at Texas A&M and have been married to for 20+ years, along with two wonderful children, Aimee and Brice. I'm excited for what my future holds and want to know I made a difference to any employer or NWS office who hires me.

Senior Meteorologist/Lead Forecaster

I have been employed by the National Weather Service for over 20 years, working in 3 different regions (Southern, Central, and Western) to give me varying experiences across different areas with local culture, forecast, and partner communication challenges. My varied experiences in meteorology, decision support (DSS), and applied research at all 5 NWS offices has been exciting and gratifying as I look to move forward in my career. I enjoy mentoring others coming into our agency, along with being a specialist in forecasting, mesoscale forecasting, analysis, outreach (particularly DSS, StormReady/Weather Ready Nation, and SKYWARN), radar interrogation, and program administration. I facilitate all communications, scheduling, ordering, and ceremonies for our local StormReady/Weather Ready Nation program for north-central Texas. I look forward to bringing my energy, expertise, and enthusiasm to any employer who has faith not only in my vast meteorological and outreach experience, but as a colleague, meteorologist, and leader for their office or company. I'd love to be an integral part of a forward thinking and explosive leadership team, while mentoring and helping others, both professionally and personally in the future.
