Nonprofit 501(c)(4) established in connection with the Waterford Institute (waterford.org). Serve as a founding/organizing board member of this Delaware entity which advocates for cost-effective school funding to enhance childhood education.SCORE / MENTOR / EXEC COMMITTEE. (2013-2021) Served as direct mentor to entrepreneurs and nonprofit boards, providing 1-to-1 counseling and workshops to over 300 clients across a range of specialties. Served as Chief Risk Officer (2016-2017) on contractor basis while mentoring internal RMCRC candidates for promotion and providing specialized staff workshops. A nonprofit supported by dozens of area banks, RMCRC provides funding for affordable housing for low- and mod-income families, with loans and commitments of over $100 million, financing over 5,000 affordable housing units.ENGLISH SKILLS LEARNING CENTER / BOARD MEMBER. (2011-2019) Nonprofit that trains hundreds of volunteers to provide free ESL instruction to refugees and immigrants. Served two terms as Board President (2011-2013).

Recruited to elevate financial management for what was then a $10+ billion commercial real estate lending and trust platform. Upon arrival, faced a market meltdown threatening bank’s survival. Chairing the Asset/Liab Mgt Committee, spearheaded development of a business capital plan ensuring the bank remained highly liquid and well-capitalized as we executed voluntary self-wind down - paring operations while meeting all depository obligations and safety/soundness regulatory expectations. Preserved $2 billion in equity for shareholders, far more than anticipated.

Bought 50% equity stake in The Kid Company, family-oriented indoor entertainment and restaurant operations, founded in 2004. Opened 2nd location in May 2007, leveraging swipe-card technology, heavy branding, TV/radio, direct mail, outdoor advertising rollout campaign. Grew mgt team, 100+ staff, retooled training, strong internal controls and guest-centered incentive plans. Transferred 50% interest to founding partners in conjunction with relocation to Utah.

Borough Councilman (Elected 2004; Reelected 2007). Served as Chairman of the Borough’s Finance, Pension & Salary Committee overseeing taxes, budgeting, compensation, police and non-uniformed employee pension management. Served as Borough’s voting member on the Joint Tax Collection Agency. Previously served as Borough Treasurer (appointed by Council 1998-2004). Throughout these years, Fox Chapel Borough provided premium resident services, repeatedly reduced property taxes, and operated with balanced budgets.

Responsible for financial management (accounting, desk operations and financial controls) and capital markets (derivatives, investments, treasury, hedging) for a business book exceeding $70 billion on/off balance sheet. Chair of Asset/Liability Committee overseeing market risk, pricing, liquidity and capitalization; strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting. Established the FHLBank’s Youth Mentoring Program matching high school students with employee volunteers trained in providing goal-setting/career guidance. Served as personal mentor for a number of students.

Recruited to head financial planning, including business forecasting, asset/liability management, product line profitability analysis, and cost accounting. Responsibilities later expanded to include investor relations.

Managed a $4.5 billion residential and commercial mortgage loan portfolio, with pricing authority over $750+ million in annual loan production. Established a secondary loan remarketing function completing over $400 million in asset sales and securitizations.

Career path throughout the Finance Department - promoted from entry-level accounting analyst through VP/Director of Asset/Liability Management, responsible for coordinating interest rate risk measurement across multiple banks within the Mellon holding company structure.
