Throughout six years as an AEGIS Fire Controlman in the U.S. Navy, I learned and practiced conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, how to troubleshoot from component to a systems level, and how to interpret and navigate technical publications. After serving as the Fire Control System (FCS) supervisor for 18 months, I became abundantly familiar with safety, teamwork, and leadership. Becoming a Combat Systems Officer of the Watch offered me a chance to demonstrate my versatility and adaptability on-board. Apprentice Technical Training (ATT) was the first of three schools I attended in the U.S. Navy. There, I learned how to identify electrical components and troubleshoot using multi-meters and oscilloscopes. Fire Controlman "A" School taught me different systems and capabilities of both conventional and AEGIS weapon systems. Lastly, AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC), is where I developed intimate knowledge of both the MK 99 Fire Control System and the MK 84 400Hz Frequency Converter. A testament to my hard work and dedication is that I volunteered for, was accepted to, and successfully completed Surface Search and Rescue Swimmer school in Jacksonville, Florida. As a rescue swimmer my roles and responsibilities included implementing life saving techniques and practices, the ability to maintain stress, and to have high attention to detail.Thank you for reading and I look forward to hearing from you.
