Taught 6th Grade Earth and Space science according to the guidelines and requirements outlined by the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED). I was trained in the use of the STEMScopes platform, a tool used to ensure the material matched up with the NMSTEM curriculum standards. Involved with the "Teaming" methodology of teaching. This involves not only working within the science department at Sierra, but would also work with other teachers at the sixth grade level to ensure any success was recognized and any issues could be solved using a group consensus. I also instructed new teachers coming into the sixth grade science position, to ensure they were familiar with using STEMScopes and what was expected of the lessons and hands-on teaching lessons.
