Currently assigned to the Collaborative Response Division where I manage the Critical Services Section. The Section consists of the Homeless Outreach and Mental Evaluation (HOME) Detail, the Special Events and Filming Detail, the Emergency Management Detail, the Reserve Police Officer Program, and the Community Services Assistants Program. As the Lieutenant in charge of this section, I also serve as the Police Department's program manager for the City's All Hazard Incident Management Team and as the Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Coordinator for Los Angeles County Disaster Management Area F. Past assignment to the Patrol Bureau's North Division where I managed a watch of 32 police officers and 3 sergeants. During this assignment I was assigned as the City's watch commander on a rotational basis, managing all on duty resources for the City of Long Beach's half a million residents within 50 square miles.

Assignments included the South Patrol Division Downtown Entertainment District. Responsible for coordinating and supervising the activity of a specialized unit of police personnel engaged in various phases of law enforcement. Personnel included officers patrolling on bicycles, patrol resources officers, and quality of life officers. Responsibilities include conducting audits and inspections, performance evaluations, and use of force investigations. Duties also included assisting with deployment of divisional resources to meet operational objectives and interacting with various department, city, outside agency, and public stakeholders via email, phone, and in person. In addition to supervising full time staff, duties also included managing an overtime budget of approximately 1.15 million dollars to provide supplemental police staffing in the Downtown Entertainment District, including the Pike Outlet Mall and Shoreline Village. This work included scheduling shifts, reviewing/approving overtime reports, and tracking the budget. Responsibilities also included being a point of contact for the convention center, local hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and bars related to enforcement, quality of life concerns, and follow up to crimes committed in the district.Collateral assignment as a member of the City’s All Hazard Incident Management Team, serving as an Incident Commander for the team. Additionally, serve as the department team coordinator, managing training, team membership, and administrative tasks related to the incident management team.

Responsibilities within the Field Support Division included training for city employees in the Incident Command System, developing and/or updating emergency operations plans, developing event action plans for large scale pre-planned events in the City of Long Beach, participating in the City of Long Beach's Disaster Preparedness Committee, coordinating NIMS compliance for the department, and managing grant projects of various amounts related to disaster preparedness.

Volunteer for Long Beach Search & Rescue 1999 - 2015. Volunteer service as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Training Director, Lead Staff Member, and Rescue Captain. Served as a member of the unit's Type II USAR team. Responsibilities included mentorship of new members and general program administration.
