• Warehousing/Distribution System- Assisted service utility provider serving 7.6M people plan and separate 2600 gas & electric parts. Separated central warehouse into two distribution centers with nine satellites. • Value Stream Mapping- mapped over 1000 processes from planning through delivery for a Food and Beverage company identifying non-value add and root causes• Design and Fabrication- prototype business video web conferencing product for startup• 3D Printing- model and construct various fixtures and prototypes using FDM• Cycle Counting- Developed and implemented program using SAP Warehouse Management for 8500 sku’s under 41,000 sqft and 11 acre yard. • Supervision- Managed 15 person crew for six months to count, pack, and move materials. Developed daily work, oversight, quality control, and training.

Active board member since January 2009, serving with Atlanta Enterprise Center prior to the merger creating ACSS. Chair of Social Enterprise Committee 2011- 2013. Secretary on executive board 2012 and 2013.• Analyzed homeless population in Atlanta to determine the best fit for program during the merger that created Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency (ACSS).• Led Social Enterprise Committee in transforming the restaurant and cleaning businesses to profitability. Also, actively leading the Social Enterprise Committee to investigate new business opportunities.• Evaluated the Career Works program for cost of process and methods to increase effectiveness.

• Helped design and fabricate a plastic blow molding machine and process to blow plastic performs (similar to a test tube) into 400ml beverage bottles. • Project had interesting design challenges. The end user’s location is in the Amazon Jungle, limiting the availability of spare parts and technical resources. This constraint required all materials and components be locally sourced. Cost constraints also required the machine be built from mostly salvaged components and scrap metal.

• Led 10 full-time and 110 part-time Six Sigma resources to complete 230 manufacturing and transactional projects. Resources were dispersed across 25 factories in North America.• Exceeded stretch savings goal each year, achieving $23 million in documented savings.• Instrumental in development and implementation of the division’s Operations Excellence campaign. Focused on improving productivity and reducing costs through division wide optimization and standardization of processes. Other contents included Reliability, OEE, standard metrics, and reporting systems.• Taught Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt courses for 23 weeks over three years.• Updated and modified George Group Lean Six Sigma base curriculum. Modified modules improve flow, increase comprehension, and use industry examples. • Led cross functional process improvement project teams utilizing Lean Six Sigma and data-based decision making in five different facilities across the United States and Canada. • Projects included productivity and waste improvements on Sheeters, Offset Printing, Platen Die Cutters, Windower/ Patching machines, and Folder/Gluers.• Led first significant inter-divisional project at RockTenn; the goal was to internalize scrap fiber sales. The project realized a million dollars in unexpected post acquisition synergy savings.

• Led implementation of Lean utilizing cellular manufacturing & visual workplace principles. • Increased productivity 55%, reduced cycle time 80%, & reduced Work In Process 90%. • Deployed self-directed work teams that initiated collaborative continuous improvement.• Created training material and cellular manufacturing simulation model to teach the benefits and principles of cellular and lean manufacturing company wide.

Studied and laid foundations to internal and supplier quality for lean manufacturing, at a new assembly plant. Used computer simulation and statistical methods to define required incoming quality and process capability. Investigated JD Power metrics for potential improvements from team-based manufacturing.

Timbuk2 manufactures and sells mass-customized messenger bags. Developed costing system to track direct labor and materials for high volume customized bags. Solved a major product quality issue via designed experimentation. Co-wrote “Timbuk2 Designs” case study on mass-customization and the “Toyota Sewing System” a derivative of TPS.
